Atari 2600 time pilot3/23/2023 ![]() ![]() In 2001, the UFOs fire fast-travelling circular bullets that blend in with the background. Their preference of homing missiles over the standard yellow bullets is more pronounced than that of the helicopters, meaning that there will typically be more missiles trailing the player in 1982 than in 1970. They are larger and more aggressive, making it easier for the player to run into them. The jets in 1982 are larger, better versions of the helicopters. The player can destroy missiles by shooting them, but can also avoid them by turning sharply. The missiles travel slightly faster than the player, but cannot make sharp turns. In addition to the common yellow bullets, they can also fire homing missiles. The helicopters of 1970 are even smaller than the monoplanes. They cannot fire at the player, and pose no real threat so long as the player does not crash into them. They require multiple hits to take down (much like the mothership) and reward the player 1500 points upon their destruction. In addition, in this level there will sometimes be red-and-yellow supply planes that fly horizontally across the screen. They are slimmer than the biplanes, though, and blend in with the background, making them tougher to target. ![]() The 1940 planes lack the tin-can-resembling bombs of the 1910 biplanes. However, the acceleration imparted on the bombs makes them quite potent as they pick up speed. This is the only time when "gravity" is present. This seems to be the work of gravity since the bombs follow the parabolic trajectory of a thrown object, despite the fact that the downward direction of the screen does not seem to point toward the "ground"-the player can fly downward indefinitely and not reach the "ground". The bombs are initially fired upward but have acceleration in the downward direction, meaning that they will move faster as they fall to the bottom of the screen. In the 1910 level, the biplanes can fire bombs in addition to the yellow bullets. In the first four levels, the common enemies and motherships can fire yellow bullets that are similar to the white bullets fired by the player, except that they travel rather slowly. The Game Boy Advance version of Time Pilot in Konami Arcade Classics includes a hidden sixth era, 1,000,000 BC, where the player must destroy vicious pterodactyls in order to return to the early 20th century. Once all the eras have been visited, the levels start over again but are harder and faster. The mothership is destroyed with seven direct hits.

With a loop you can bleed of some speed and well…look fancy from the perspective of a bystander ![]() You begin flying leveled, preferably at enough speed (if you are close to stall speed when entering the loop-don’t, it really won’t work out >.< ).To begin the loop pitch up and continue to do so till you are leveled again. To actually profit from the break ,you should turn into your attacker’s vector of attack in order to give him the smallest possible time to fire upon you. Here’s an example to make it a bit clear an enemy is making a pass on you from 3 o’clock. In this situation you should break right as this will minimize the enemies firing solution. If you break left, you’ll make yourself an easy target as he’ll be exactly on your six then.Įveryone know what a loop is ,so this should be rather simple. This is the most basic of basic stuff-it’s just a fancy word for “turn sharply in one direction when attacked”(one would think I shoudn’t even mention this move as it’s just instinct to turn when getting shot at,but my ingame experience tells me otherwise ).It’s quite obvious what you would use a break for-evading someone on your 6 and denying him an easy target. It’s quite effective in more agile planes like the Zero. I’ve tried to keep things as clear and simple as possible. On each maneuver I’ll try to explain how it’s done and when it is usefull in WoWp.I’ve added pictures to almost every maneuver to make the explanation more clear and I may add videos at a later moment in time. After that’s out of the way we can continue. So I guess I should first introduce myself –I’m sure a lot of you already know me (in which case you probably also know everything in this guide),but if you don’t feel free to read my memoirs. I decided to make this (rather basic) guide for some air combat moves which would be an asset if known for any WoWp player ,especially for all those who just joined us in the Open Beta. World of Warplanes Air Maneuvering Guide by _Grim_ ![]() Tattletale or snitch3/22/2023 ![]() ![]() When the child tattles, downplay it without completely dismissing it. Kids also may tattle if they feel something is unfair, to get another child in trouble, for attention or approval, or for deflection. Is the child speaking up because he knows a rule has been broken but hasn’t developed the cognitive skills to understand when it’s important to and not to tell? Does he lack the social skills needed to resolve problems on his own? Here are nine tips to help you with your little tattletale. “Kids won’t say, ‘I need you to listen to this and be outraged on my behalf and then do absolutely nothing,'” says Thompson, “but 90 percent of the time that is what they want.” But experts say parents shouldn’t dismiss kids’ reports or tell them to “Get over it.” Sometimes, kids just want a safe place to share their concerns. It seems obvious: Giving attention to tattletale kids will only reward them for it. “If you are harsh and judgmental with your children, they’ll act the same way with peers.” How to respond “Parents need to take an honest look within,” says Walfish. An older child might feel he is held to a higher standard than his younger siblings, or that he is disciplined more severely. “Tattling at home may also be rooted in sibling rivalry,” says Walfish. The result is that every broken rule is brought to an adult’s attention. The most prominent reason is a developmental stage called “rule-governed behavior.” Somewhere around 5, kids begin to understand there are rules to be followed – but they don’t have the capacity to distinguish between major and minor rule-breaking. Tattletales suffer from an overdose of conscience. “Kids tattle because they’ve developed a strong sense of right and wrong and they start policing other people,” says Walfish. Parents may assume kids tattle because they don’t feel empowered to stick up for themselves, says Fran Walfish, a child and adolescent psychotherapist in Beverly Hills, California. Bringing infractions to an adult’s attention sets your kid up for friendship failure. “Kids who tattle get labeled – tattletale, squealer, snitch – and left out,” says Thompson. Perhaps because this is also the age, around 7 or 8, when a child has the ability to distinguish between what does and doesn’t need to be told. ![]() At times, they legitimately need our help resolving disputes and soothing hurt feelings.īut by second grade, inviting adults into social conflicts is clearly not cool. “In early childhood, it’s normal for kids to share social problems with parents,” says psychologist and school consultant Michael Thompson, author of Best Friends, Worst Enemies: Understanding the Social Lives of Children. While parents want to keep an open line of communication, teaching kids to discern when to and not to tell can be complex and confusing. The tattletale kids phenomenon is common – especially among children ages 5 to 10. ![]() Lyrics alone with you3/22/2023 ![]() ![]() From Paramore’s point of view, that’s the human side that leads people to interact with others aggressively, and aggression always has terrible consequences: that’s why the band mentions crimes and the “survival of the fittest,” implying that society became a jungle where you try to impose yourself over others through public opinions.Īfter all, that’s the meaning of the lyrics inside This Is Why: we don’t like the way the world has turned, with so many people screaming their positions aggressively over others we prefer to stay away from them, isolated in our personal space, with a robust door separating us from the world. The world out there seems ruled by a never-ending battle where people try to stand out from others with their temper. If she crosses the door, the world becomes uncertain, full of risks and instabilities, as the following lines declare: The door represents a safe border that marks the personal space and separates it from the outside. It doesn’t matter how nice the world can be outside: figuratively, the singer prefers to stay shut at home, alone, with a door separating her from the rest of the world. This aggressivity concerned the band and ultimately led them to take a break from their public presence. Paramore points out that people don’t need to express their views so loudly and publicly, as it often happens nowadays on the Internet, trying to impose their effect on others. I was alone (I was alone) You gave me hope (You gave me hope) Hit up my phone (Hit up my phone) Let no one know Lord save my soul, 'til death we whole I was alone (I was alone) Chorus: iluvmsj It. Their aversion towards what people say is clear from the song’s beginning:Įverybody has the right to have opinions, of course. For the same reason, the band took a break after 2017, trying to cope with the pressure of public visibility and musical success. Hayley Williams, Paramore’s singer and leader, has always admitted to being psychologically affected by her complicated relationship with others. ![]() The song’s lyrics make it clear that the author feels profoundly different than others.
