Pocky and rocky 2 rom snes3/21/2023 ![]() ![]() Surely that’s enough backstory on the game. You can play as Pocky, Rocky OR Becky in this rare Game Boy Advance game, so it all makes sense in the end. The original Japanese name is “Kiki Kaikai Advance”, which sounds like somethin you shouldn’t be doing while holding a Game Boy. Well after some research (I’ve played the games, but I never knew the lore), the originals starred Pocky and Rocky, and the fourth game in the series brought in “Becky”… the most Japanese name, amirite? So let me get this straight… Her name isn’t “Pocky” or “Rocky”? Take that Carmen Electra! (She was on the show.) DemiKids: Dark Version (2002) Not too shabby for a game that received “mixed” reviews. Well it’s a rare Game Boy Advance game today, and could fetch a nice price on open market.Ī loose cart would sell for around $60, and a sealed box would be anywhere up to $800ish. I mean, I don’t think it was that bad of a game. There were sixteen different robots to choose from, and you could compete in your own battle tournament to be the baddest robot out there.Īpparently reviews and sales were not the best. Well in 2002, an officially licensed BattleBots game was released for the Game Boy Advance. I freakin loved those robotic battlers trying to flip eachother over, burn eachother out, or just spin themselves with knives attached to the sides to keep any competitors away. Car Battler Joe (2001)ĭo you guys remember when the BattleBots television show was on the air back in the early 2000s? ![]() ![]() The listing was for the “Scary” version specifically, and puts a loose copy at around $125 and a sealed box at around $325.Īn ebay search gives me some loose copies between $100 and $200, and one opened box at $464.82 or Best Offer + $4.18 shipping from United Kingdom.Ĭlearly it is a desirable physical edition and one of the most rare Game Boy Advanced games out there. It was a pretty cool game and had some creative ideas to the gameplay, such as how you could hit an enemy and they could bump into other enemies.Īpparently the “Scary Dreams” title was a North American exclusive, and was more rare than the European “Buster’s Bad Dream” version. It was also the last Tiny Toon Adventure game (until the recent announcement of Tiny Toons Looniversity). Still, that doesn’t make the game any less fun to play on your own or against a friend who thinks they have a higher IQ than you do.“Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams”… I mean that sounds like a pretty cool game already.Īlso known as “Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster’s Bad Dream”, this was the second Tiny Toon Adventures game to come to the GBA. Some call this a smart marketing move, I call it a downgrade. Where Panel de Pon has cute anime girls as the stage backgrounds, Tetris Attack has characters from Nintendo franchises. Rather it’s a Japanese game called Panel de Pon with a thick coat of Tetris paint over it so international audiences would find it appealing. Tetris Attack is unique in the franchise in that, it’s not actually Tetris. To reminisce about simpler times and offer guidance to those thinking of dusting off their old SNES to show the younger generations what they’re missing out on, I’ve put together a list of my favorite multiplayer games out there which I’m sure SNES fanatics will appreciate. This allowed players to bond with siblings and friends in a new way, often bridging differences in interests and age.Įveryone can enjoy the SNES which is one of the reasons it became the best-selling console of the 16-bit generation. While many developers took the chance to design expansive single-player experiences that weren’t practical for arcades, others simply focused on porting fighters, racers, and other multiplayer content over to the home console. It promised to bring the content previously found only on hulking arcade machines to the comfort of your living room, and for the most part it did. ![]() When it first came out the SNES was celebrated for its beautiful colors and the increased detail the 16-bit-capable hardware allowed developers. ![]()
